HEART/SOURCE WISDOM for DIRECTION MEDITATION 4/24

The answers to many of your questions about living your life can be found through your heart and higher wisdom. Heart Wisdom is accessed many ways. I am offering this meditation. You are welcome to it, to change it, to find that part which most speaks to you.

  1. Create a safe, quiet space. Choose a time when you will be uninterrupted. Dress comfortably. I use different spots depending on the day and my mood.
  2. Think of a situation in your life you would like direction on, or an answer to, or insight into. Trust yourself to pick just the right topic.
  3. Close your eyes. Become present in your body. What are you seeing? What are you feeling? What are you hearing? Use a regular breath to the bottom of your lungs and then exhale. Feel the expansion of your energies. Any tensions can begin to release. Your goal is to have a sense of gentle awareness of your body as you do the meditation.
  4. Imagine you are feeling energy going through your feet into the earth and you are growing roots into the ground. You don’t have to make pictures or feel or hear anything particular. Or you may experience all three. Then bring that energy back up and through your legs, hips, torso, arms, neck and head. Let the energy glide out the top of your head. Imagine you are connecting with the power greater than yourself, the Source, the Creator, God —whatever you call it—and then bring that consciousness back into yourself, again, through the top of your head. Imagine a bubble of light expanding around you.
  5. Imagine the bubble of light connects you to the universe and life. Now you are one with all. The oneness is always there, waiting for you to connect.
  6. Put your question or concern into your heart. No need to see visual things if you don’t see visuals (or to feel or hear if you don’t feel or hear things) as everyone’s images are different. Some people have sensations, some see pictures and some hear words. Some will have combinations of all of them. Collect all the energies at your heart, with no expectations.
  7. As you rest into your heart, look around and notice/feel that there is an opening/door/gateway. Go through it to the other side.
  8. When you get to the other side you can consult with your heart wisdom. There may be someone there to talk to, there may be no one. It may be a beautiful room or a dark empty cave. There may only be a vague feeling. Take your time and ask your questions and wait to get direction.
  9. Trust whatever comes—a field of fog, a humming sound, a beautiful field, a long discourse surrounded with light. Feel, hear or see the responses. Trust it! Trust yourself, no matter how unusual it seems. Stay with it and continue to ask questions and get responses for as long as you want to. Have a recorder or paper and pen nearby in case you want to record anything.
  10. When you are ready—it may be one minute or an hour, go back out that same door and return to the room and awareness of being present. As you become alert, ground yourself by noticing what you see, what you feel, what you hear in the space around you.
  11. Reflect on what you learned, write about it, talk about it, take a nap, draw it, go for a walk—whatever is right for you. Decide if you think it helps you and if you want to apply it.

That’s it. Now make this meditation your own, modify it to suit you, but always trusting the direction or information.  Love and peace, Jody  April 2024, Lake Monona, Wisconsin
